John Goodridge bought the butcher’s business in July 1872. He paid £100 for the fittings and goodwill. He run the business until the end of his life 51 years later. His son carried on running the shop for another five years.
Charles Hylden - Butcher at 33, Trafalgar Street
The first time that John's brother-in-law, Charles Hylden is listed in a Brighton Directory was 1890. He had taken over the business of Miss R Hills at 33, Trafalgar Street near to the main Brighton Railway Station. The final listing for Charles Hylden's butchers shop was 1914.
